Frequently asked questions

The questions we receive from families and teaching teams, along with the answer and the source. If yours is not here, Vetlla will answer it in the bubble at the bottom right, at any time.

How many hours is my child entitled to?

There is no public table that says "so many points, so many hours." What is documented is the circuit: the EAP fills out annex 4, which scores up to 81 points, and the Departament distributes them "based on the scores obtained by the students" (BOPC 448, p. 26). The hours are assigned to the centre: the management, together with the CAEI, decides how many each child receives.

Do I have the right to see the EAP report?

Yes, and it is an obligation. Article 15.7 of Decret 150/2017: the EAP "must provide it […] to the fathers, mothers or legal guardians".

The hours have been reduced and nobody notified me. Is this legal?

No public regulation sets a notice period for families, and this is the gap denounced by the Sindic de Greuges. What you can demand is that any denial be made via a reasoned and signed resolution, indicating the available appeals.

Can more hours be requested once the school year has started?

In chartered centres, there is no published procedure for increasing hours during the year. The documented route is for the management to request a new assessment with annex 4 from the EAP, and for it to be recorded before the December communication. Furthermore, the service specifications establish that "any modification that occurs during the school year must be authorized by the direction of the territorial services".

Is health monitoring deducted from the centre's hours?

No. These hours "are aimed at the care of the child or youth […] they are not aimed at the centre, as in ordinary monitoring". They are separate and are requested by the management from the EAP.

Can they leave my child out of a trip or a school camp?

Exclusion due to lack of support is discrimination: RDL 1/2013, article 63 considers it a violation "the failure […] to make reasonable adjustments". Deadlines: minimum 30 days, and an initial period from September 2nd to October 11th to communicate them all.

And if my child's school does not appear with hours?

This means those hours are not listed in any public document. In public centres, the service is tendered by territorial lots and the Departament does not publish how many hours each school receives. This does not mean you cannot find out: it is requested via transparency, and the GAIP has already ruled in favour of those who have requested it. We explain this in The data.

Where does this data come from? Can I trust it?

From four resolutions published in the DOGC. Each school file links to the official PDF so you can verify the figure. If you find an error, write to us and we will correct it the same day.

I am a teacher. Can I do anything?

A lot. We explain it here.
