Management of support hours and attention to diversity
Attention to diversity in schools requires adequate accompaniment. For subsidized schools (centres concertats), the funded support hours are published each academic year in the annexes of the DOGC, as is the case with EDF/481/2026 for the 2025-2026 academic year. The calculation of these hours is based on Annex 4, the Protocol for evaluating complementary support needs, which scores up to 81 points divided into four blocks.
However, the distribution of these hours shows irregularities. According to the Ombudsman's report from January 2025, despite an overall increase of 15.5% in hours, 23.2% of centers (466 out of 2,011) suffered a reduction in their allocation. Furthermore, out of 574 centers with published hours, 193 lost them between the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years.
Regarding public centers, the service is managed through file ED-2026-5, with a budget of 62.63 million euros divided into 11 territorial lots. This contract provides for 64,447 weekly hours starting in January 2026 to ensure the necessary support for students.
For families and teachers, it is important to know the assignment calendar: the proposal from the Directorate General for Inclusive Education is made in May, the initial assignment in July, and the final one before the start of the academic year. You can find more information in the original source.
