The role of supervisors in the educational community
The figure of the supervisor is described as an essential piece within the educational community to guarantee the accompaniment of children. This support is key to ensuring that each student receives the necessary attention during their school day.
Regarding the management of these hours, the Protocol for evaluating complementary support needs (Annex 4) is the basis for the calculation, scoring up to 81 points across four different blocks to determine the allocation for each center.
However, the data show variable situations. According to the Ombudsman's report from January 2025, despite a global increase of 15.5% in hours, 23.2% of centers (466 out of 2,011) suffered a reduction in their allocation.
Furthermore, it has been observed that, out of 574 centers with published hours, 193 lost some between the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years. These variations directly impact the availability of accompaniment for children.
