Situation of school monitor positions and the impact on educational support
The lack of professionals to fill school monitor positions creates additional pressure on the inclusive school model. This situation directly affects the ability of centers to ensure that every child has the necessary support for their educational development.
This scenario is compounded by a complex distribution of hours. According to the Ombudsman's report from January 2025, despite an overall increase of 15.5% in hours, 23.2% of centers (466 out of 2,011) saw a reduction in their allocation.
The management of these hours is based on the Protocol for evaluating complementary support needs (annex 4), which scores up to 81 points across four blocks to calculate the allocation for each center.
