Increase in unfilled caregiver positions and resignations
The lack of professionals to fill caregiver positions and the increase in resignations create additional pressure on the inclusive school model. This situation directly affects the ability to ensure that every child receives the support they need for their academic development.
This scenario is established in a context where the allocation of hours is variable. According to the Ombudsman's report from January 2025, despite an overall increase of 15.5% in hours, 23.2% of centers (466 out of 2,011) saw their allocation reduced.
Likewise, data from centers with published hours show that 193 out of 574 centers lost hours between the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years, further complicating the management of complementary supports in schools.
