The lack of resources and the impact on the inclusive school
The viability of the inclusive school depends directly on whether the child has the accompaniment they need. However, the lack of resources creates overwhelming situations that affect students, teaching staff, and support staff alike.
The data show a complex reality in the distribution of hours. According to the Ombudsman's report from January 2025, despite an overall increase of 15.5% in hours, 23.2% of centers (466 out of 2,011) saw a reduction in their allocation.
This trend is confirmed in the centers with hours published in the DOGC. Out of 574 centers, 193 lost hours between the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years, which jeopardizes the complementary support based on the Needs Assessment Protocol (Annex 4).
