Situation of school support and monitoring hours
The accompaniment of children with disabilities at school depends directly on the allocation of monitoring hours assigned to each center. According to the dossier, out of 574 centers with published hours, 193 lost some between the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years. In Sabadell, there are 22 centers with published hours, and one of them has suffered a reduction during this period.
This situation occurs despite the Ombudsman's Report from January 2025 indicating a global increase of 15.5% in hours. Nevertheless, 23.2% of centers (466 out of 2,011) saw their allocation reduced, which directly affects the capacity to respond to the complementary support needs of the students.
The calculation of these hours is based on Annex 4 (Protocol for evaluating complementary support needs), which scores up to 81 points across four blocks. The cost of the current monitoring module is 450.00 EUR per weekly hour per school year.
