Support request for students with special needs
Teaching staff are warning about the need for greater support in classrooms to address the increase in students with special needs. The main objective is to ensure that every child has the necessary accompaniment for their educational development.
This scenario occurs in a context where the allocation of support assistant hours shows significant variations. According to the Ombudsman's report from January 2025, despite an overall increase of 15.5% in hours, 23.2% of centers (466 out of 2,011) saw their allocation reduced.
Likewise, data from the DOGC annexes show that, of 574 centers with published hours, 193 lost them between the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years, which directly impacts the support capacity of the centers.
